THE COMPLETE
PORTFOLIO
Hi! My name is Janna De Vera, a fifth-year undergraduate student majoring in architecture at the University of Southern California. My journey into the realm of architecture began with building legos as a child, and has evolved into the creation of sophisticated models throughout my collegiate experience.
Committed to a pursuit of excellence in education and hands-on learning, I am driven to cultivate a profound understanding of design, technology, and human behavior. My academic journey has not only equipped me with a strong foundation but has instilled in me a resolute commitment to continuous improvement. As I embark on the transition to the professional realm, I am eager to apply my existing skills while actively seeking opportunities to acquire new competencies that will contribute to the dynamic field of architecture.
I am enthusiastic about the prospect of leveraging my knowledge and skills to make meaningful contributes in the workforce as well as the built environment. Welcome to my portfolio, cataloguing all my work from the past four years, I hope you enjoy.

Venice Beach, now known as Silicon Beach, has become a vibrant hub for high-tech companies like Snapchat. Amidst this tech-driven development, my partner and I aimed to create a space that meets the immediate needs of the community while bridging the existing community with the emerging technological future. Our solution was to design an open-access tech hub that serves as a meeting and learning center for all.
Challenged to reimagine and reshape neglected urban spaces, we were encouraged to look beyond the surface, unlocking the latent potential of these neglected spaces and breathing new life into them through inspired architectural design. Inspired by the diverse textures around the site, we used both conceptual and physical site forces to generate the building’s form. We relied on AI software, such as Midjourney, to help develop ideas, forms, textures, and experiences.
By focusing on materiality and building facade simultaneously, we aimed to enhance the user experience through texture and tactility. Incorporating three different types of terracotta bricks allowed light and wind to flow into the spaces, adding dimension to the exterior and enriching the overall aesthetic. Located at the intersection of Abbot Kinney Blvd and Washington Way, our project revitalizes the area as a community tech hub, promoting accessibility, innovation, and collaboration.
